The Movement for Change (M4C) is a political organization whose establishment was inspired by the overwhelming demand by Ghanaians from all walks of life for change and to transform Ghana into a prosperous, united, and peaceful nation.
Pillars of the Movement For Change
There are five dominant pillars underpinning the establishment of the movement:
Leading the process of constitutional reforms that will enhance the quality of governance.
The brand logo for the MOVEMENT is the Monarch Butterfly (Afrafranto in Akan), which politically symbolizes change and transformation, hope, and positivity. As a political leader, I find inspiration in the butterfly’s symbolism of strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust. The brand motto of the Movement is “Ghana Will Rise Again,” which symbolizes hope for the future of Ghana
Change the political status quo by moving Ghana beyond the duopoly of the two main political parties in Ghana; the NPP and NDC. This will break divisive partisanship in governance in Ghana, and bring an end to the “winner takes all” political syndrome. This will result in:
End divisiveness in our politics.
End the winner-takes-all-all syndrome.
Bring continuity in governance.
Avoid the arrogance of power.
Establish a Government of National Unity
Establish a government of National Unity which will enable us to harness the collective abilities of our people irrespective for national development. This will include people from all walks of life, irrespective of their political, religious, and ethnic affiliations: rich or poor, abled and disabled, young or old, women and men. This will allow for effective and inclusive participatory governance. The MOVEMENT will lead to the formation of a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Build consensus on a National Development Agenda
Moving Ghana beyond party manifestos and building consensus around a national development plan. The MOVEMENT will build consensus on a National Development Agenda which will introduce a new paradigm shift that moves Ghana from growth and stability to economic transformation. This paradigm shift will be driven by my Great Transformational Plan (GTP)for Ghana which puts the private sector and the business community at the centre of our national development efforts
Inspire Behavioural and Attitudinal Change in the People of Ghana
Inspiring behavioural and attitudinal change in Ghanaians without which the other dominant themes will not work. This will include but not be limited to the following:
Enforcement of Discipline
A War against Corruption
Arrogance of Power
Passion for Excellence
Solution-Based Thinking and a Focus on Execution
Making Laws Work in Ghana
Lead the Process of Constitutional Reforms in Ghana
The MOVEMENT will lead the process of constitutional reforms that will enhance the quality of governance and put Ghana on a new path of socio-economic transformation for the betterment of every Ghanaian.
