The accused, Tyler Barris, who made the hoax calls from California, was arrested in December 2017 and was later sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Adelina Finch was the niece of Andrew Finch, 28, who was wrongfully killed by the police following a swatting incident in 2017. Sadly, Adelina took her own life later in 2018 at the age of 18.
The teenager was the witness to the murder of her uncle by the Kansas City police in December 2016. The unarmed Andrew Finch was killed after an altercation following the hoax call made to the police by a 26-year-old man from more than 1300 miles away.
The dispute raised by an online game of Call of Duty: WWII and a $1.50 bet led the 26-year-old Tyler Barris from California to call the police and report a case of a hostage situation at Andrew’s address in Wichita, Kansas. This led to the police wrongfully murdering the innocent unarmed Andrew.
The death of her uncle was too much for the young Adelina who took matters into her own hands in January 2019 when she shot herself to death.

Adelina Louise Finch, the niece of Andrew Finch was born on August 19, 2000, in Wichita, Kansas. Sadly, she shot herself to death on January 11, 2019, at the age of 18.
The teenager was dealing with the tragedy of the passing of her uncle and her mother. She had witnessed the murder of her uncle just over a year prior, an incident that was believed to trigger her to take the deadly step. She used to work as a CNA for the Catholic Care Center.
In a shocking turn of events, Adelina’s boyfriend, Jeremy “JC” Arnold also died later in an apparent suicide. He was the one who discovered the dead body of his girlfriend in the apartment they shared. He was 20 years old when he took his own life.
