Stephen King is an American author of horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, crime, science-fiction, and fantasy novels.
He is famous for being one of the most renowned and celebrated authors in the world. He has been dubbed the “King of Horror.”
Over the course of his career, King has authored more than 60 novels, in addition to numerous short stories, novellas, and essays.
His books have sold more than 350 million copies as of 2006 and many have been made into films, television shows, miniseries, and comic comics.
Stephen King received Bram Stoker Awards, World Fantasy Awards, and British Fantasy Society Awards. The National Book Foundation gave him the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters in 2003.
He has also garnered accolades for his contributions to literature for his whole career, including the 2004 World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement and the Mystery Writers of America’s Grand Master Award in 2007.
