The soul food restaurateur and former vocalist Robbie Montgomery, who appeared in the reality series “Welcome to Sweetie Pie,” has passed away.
She was 70 years old. Tim Norman, Montgomery’s son, posted a notice of her passing on Facebook on Thursday night.
I regret to inform you of the demise of my mother, Robbie Montgomery,” Norman stated in his letter. She fought right up until the end.
She is now at peace and in a better place, I am certain of that”.
In 1996, Montgomery launched the first Sweetie Pie eatery in St. Louis. There are currently sites for the soul food franchise in Mississippi, Texas, and California.
Montgomery and her family’s attempts to grow the restaurant industry were documented in the reality series “Welcome to Sweetie Pies”.
Between 2011 and 2014, the program aired on OWN. Montgomery is survived by her daughter Jennifer Williams and her grandchildren in addition to Norman.
