Dove Cameron was born to Philip Alan Hosterman and Bonnie Wallace on January 15, 1996, on Bainbridge Island in Washington.
When she was younger, she attended Sakai Intermediate School. At eight, Cameron started performing in community theater at Bainbridge Performing Arts.
When she was fourteen years old, her family moved to Los Angeles, California, and Dove enrolled in the Burbank High School Show Choir, which took first place in the national competition.
When Dove’s father passed away in 2011, she was 15. After her father passed away, Cameron formally adopted the name Dove in honor of him and the nickname he gave her.
