How do I edit my profile on care com?
Welcome to the
Care.
com Community. On the left of the Account & Settings page you’ll see
Edit/View
profile under your photo. By clicking the “
Edit/View” you’ll see the option to update your
profile including your bio.
How do I update my legal information on care com?
If you need to edit or
update this
information for any reason, you can visit the General
Information section of your Profile & Settings page. Please note that changes to your personal
information may take up to 24 hours to be approved.
How do you change your name on care com?
At the top of
your Account Settings page you’ll find a “General Information” section. By clicking the “Edit” link you can update
your name, address, email, phone number, etc. You can also
change your password and verify
your email address on the main page of the General Information section.
Is care com a legit website?

How much does care com take out of your pay?
Care.com will
take 2 percent of
the existing 12 percent transaction fee it charges families and contribute that money to benefits for those families’ caregivers. Families have
the option to raise that transaction fee to 14 percent and give
the additional two percentage points to
their caregivers.
Does Care com take a percentage of your pay?

Care.com
does not
take a cut of
your pay.
Payment and
payment details are strictly between you and
your employer. So, you would want to work out
the payment contract with
your employer, including details such as
your payment schedule, etc.
Is it better to pay a nanny under the table?
Typically, when families do decide on utilizing the help of a
nanny, that’s how they see it—someone who is helping out. However, when you take into account the financial and legal risks of avoiding taxes and the benefits of taking the proper legal steps,
paying your

under the table” is really just not worth it.
How long does care com take to approve you?
The quality and safety of the content on
Care.com is very important to us. For this reason all site content goes through a rigorous
approval process. This process is typically complete within 24-48 hours.
Can you use care com without paying?
You can sign up for a basic account on
Care.com and
use the site for free. However, the basic account only gives
you access to certain features, and doesn’t allow
you to easily communicate through the online messaging system. To get more features,
you need to purchase a paid membership subscription.
Can I trust care com with my SSN?
Verification of your
Social Security Number is required with our enhanced caregiver screening and caregivers are allowed two attempts to verify their
SSN. Unfortunately,
Care.com
does not know the reason why an
SSN Trace cannot be completed.
Which is better care com or SitterCity?
Reviews show that
SitterCity offers more affordable options for background checks, but the checks included at
Care.com’s highest level are more comprehensive than those included at the same level from
SitterCity.

How do I verify my Social Security number?
If you want to
verify SSNs for other than wage reporting purposes you must use our Consent Based
SSN Verification Service (CBSV) which you can access from our website at www.
socialsecurity.gov/cbsv. If you want to
verify your own
SSN, you must have proof of identity and visit your local
Social Security Field Office.
How do I deactivate my care com account?
Answers- Log into your Care.com account.
- Visit your Account & Settings page, linked from the left side of your Care.com homepage.
- Scroll down to “Membership Information” and select the option to close your account.
How do I delete my care com account without paying?
Click “
Account and Settings.” Scroll Down to the “
Membership Information” Section and Click the “Close
Account” Button. Press the “No thanks, cancel my
membership” option then select a reason for why you are closing your
account.
Why did care com delete my account?
The member is not active in the service. The member has misrepresented himself or herself and/or has provided false information to
Care.com. Suspicion of fraudulent activity. We were unable to verify the information the member provided when he/she registered.
Can you delete reviews on care com?
You cannot
delete reviews from your account.
If she has posted something untrue,
you can contact
care.
com and ask for it
to be removed, but
to be honest
they usually refuse.
Can families be reviewed on care com?
We
do not have an option at this time for caregivers to write a
review on a
family. However, we always recommend reporting a member if you have any concerns about safety on the site.
