Hank Lebioda, the renowned golf professional, is happily married to his beautiful wife, Mary Matechik Lebioda, who has been his biggest source of support throughout his career.
Mary and Hank first crossed paths while attending Florida State University, and their relationship blossomed in 2014.
As Hank’s popularity as a professional golfer grew, so did the attention on his girlfriend, Mary. Eventually, in 2017, the couple took their relationship to the next level and exchanged wedding vows. It was during the same year that Hank secured his first win at the PGA Tour Canada’s Mackenzie Investments Open.
Subsequently, Hank also participated in the PGA Tour, including the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship, where Matt Wallace emerged as the winner. Both Hank and Vincent have secured spots for themselves in the 2023 U.S. Open, marking their first appearance in this prestigious tournament, set to take place from June 15 to 18 at The Los Angeles Country Club.
Mary Matechik Lebioda, Hank’s wife, is an incredible person whom he met during their college days. Hank proposed to Mary in 2017, and a year later, they celebrated their union in marriage. On February 27, 2021, the couple welcomed their bundle of joy, a beautiful baby boy named Henry Joseph.
Academically, Mary holds a degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University. She is known for her kind-hearted nature and actively supports the Colitis Foundation, working towards the welfare of individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Additionally, she plays a vital role as a member of the Executive Council for annual fundraisers.
During her upbringing, Mary developed a passion for fictional and magical reads and shows, making her a devoted fan of the Harry Potter series.
Mary hails from Navarre, Florida, where she was raised by her parents, Stephen Matechik and Susan Matechik. Her father, Stephen, pursued engineering at Pennsylvania State University and later served in the United States Air Force before becoming a Principal Research Engineer at Georgia Tech. While information about Susan’s profession is not available, it is worth noting that Mary’s parents also attended Pennsylvania State University, where their own romance likely began.
Mary grew up in a large family alongside three brothers, Greg, Mark, and Matt, and one sister named Veronica. Currently, all of Mary’s siblings are married, with some already having 2-3 children with their respective partners.
During his time at Florida State University, Hank Lebioda was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that caused him significant pain and discomfort. At the age of 18, he underwent a colonoscopy as per the doctor’s recommendation. Throughout this challenging period, Mary stood by Hank’s side, providing unwavering support and care. Fortunately, Hank’s recovery has been steady, allowing him to continue his education and pursue his golfing career.
Reflecting on his experience with Crohn’s disease, Hank describes it as a tumultuous and challenging journey. Despite the hardships, he remains grateful for the progress he has made and refers to the entire experience as “crazy” and “nuts.”
