ABC13 in Halifax County, Virginia, sprung the surprise on the woman named Mary on March 1, a week after her sister Carrie Williams, 69, was killed in a crash.

A family faced with a double tragedy after a house fire and fatal crash happened in one night. Mary said she lived in the home on Mill Road in Clover for 40 years, raising her five children in it, before it was destroyed by a fire Monday night, Feb. 24. She said she and her granddaughter were inside the home when it caught fire.
